Just 6 for my 4

I have 4 dogs. Yes, that's right F-O-U-R! They are part of my family, they are not pets. They lay on the furniture, sleep in the beds, ride in my car and cost me a blue-bloody fortune. But you know what? They are worth every penny. 

In my effort to keep them healthy and looking their best I feed them holistic food. I am at the local holistic store every 8 days, they love seeing me walk through the door! It costs about $11 a day to feed these guys but again, they are worth every penny!

When I was asked to do a dog food review for Nutrish, a new food by Rachel Ray, I'll be honest, I was a little hesitant. The last thing I want to do is to mess with my babies systems. There is nothing worse than dog farts, explosive diarrhea and getting up in the middle of the night to let someone out, this Momma needs uninterrupted sleep! But then I realized I didn't have to feed them the sample bag all at once to see if they liked it, I could use it as treats. So I agreed to give it a try.

Look how it came, I'm big on packaging so this was a big hit with me!

The basic idea behind Rachael Ray Nutrish just 6 dry dog food is that well, there's just 6 main ingredients plus a ton of vitamins and minerals. I took a look at the ingredients and it's full of great stuff and not full of the not so great stuff. There is no need to feed your dogs a bunch of fillers, by-products and artificial colors {they don't care what color it is as long as it smells and tastes good}. I also love that it has glucosamine in it. Glucosamine is so very important for healthy joints in large breed dogs. Yep, another hit with me! 

Now to sell the dogs...

Jewel was very hesitant, maybe she didn't like the smell.

I wasn't worried about Rogue, Dude eats panties for goodness sakes, I knew he'd eat it.

Deja was a little slow at first but once she heard Rogue crunching on his she was too afraid she'd miss something wonderful and dove right in.

Even Belle, my 15 year old, who eats nothing crunchy loved it. 

Apparently Jewel liked it and decided she wanted seconds.

Then Deja wanted seconds. Look at my boy  Rogue, waiting like a gentleman for me to offer him some more.

I do not think I have ever seen them all sitting together so beautifully, if noting else just 6 gave me a great picture! 

I believe I'm sold, obviously the dogs loved it, but like any good Mamma I will need to compare the ingredients to what I usually feed my babies the next time I buy a bag. In the mean time I will continue to pass it out for good behavior and since they have been sitting at my side staring at the bag for the past hour I think I may need to pick up a bag while I'm out. Lucky for me, I can get it at both my grocery store and Wal-Mart!
