New Years Resolutions or New Years Ain't Never Gonna Happens?

My list of New Year Resolutions  New Year Ain't Never Gonna Happens has a few of the same things on it year after year. Move more- Eat less, mail birthday and thank you cards out on time, plan and attend one GNO a month, get my scrapbooks caught up. {Yes, I'm a scrap-booker. Well let me rephrase that, I used to be a scrap-booker, now I'm a scrap-book-slacker. I think I must have been hitting the crack pipe a little too hard when I thought that as my girls got older I was going to have more free time.} Here's how my list has worked out so far...

Move more- Eat Less- I haven't weighed this much in 4 years and I have a beach vacation coming up in just 2 weeks.  Let's hope no one mistakes me for a manatee and tries to feed me wilted lettuce!

Mail birthday and thank you cards out on time- My trip to Texas was weeks ago and I still have not taken the 5 minutes to send a thank you card to my amazing friends! My Great-Nephew will be 13 in 10 days, who wants to help remind me to get his gift and mail it?

Plan and attend one GNO a month- I've done fairly well with this one. I haven't always been the planner but that doesn't matter we're going out and enjoying some kid and penis free time together. I can hardly wait for Julys GNO! I'll tell you all about it after the 9th.

Get my scrapbooks caught up- I love my scrapbooks. I love the fact that my kids enjoy them and appreciate all that goes into making them even more. I love seeing them off of the shelf and hearing my girls giggle as they look through them. Between 2005 and today I do not have a single scrapbook page complete. That is horrible!

Danielle and I are going to try to change that. We got together last week for about 6 hours and I have this to report, clearly I am out of practice and need to find my mojo. I found every excuse to not work and as a result I only completed 4 pages. So pathetic!  I will try harder to do better this week.

But they're cute pages and I was able to capture two of Peanuts many personalities, boy am I glad she's grown out of that crap!

We're over half way through 2011, what was on your New Years Resolution list? Or do you have a New Year Ain't Never Gonna Happen List like me? Either way, how's that list working out for ya?

Whut, Whut?

Yeah, I totally stole that Whut, Whut? from JennyKate. You don't mind to ya pumkin?

It's Wednesday and that can only mean one thing...it's time for  Impulsive Addict, Mamarazzi, Janette and I to get nosey! IA is asking the questions this week and she wants to know...

1.} What was the last thing you searched for online?
2.} If we visit your home state, what is one MUST we should do before leaving?
3.} What do you think pharmaceutical companies should invent a pill for that isn't on the market yet?
4.} When was your first kiss? Was it good or bad?
5.} What is your guilty pleasure TV show that you cannot miss?

We had two guest questions this week!
Thank you Amber @ Amberly Adventures for question #4 and Vandy @ The Testosterone Three and Me for question #5! If you'd like to see your questions on a WWTKW and get some linky love email one of us your questions. Also, if you would like a little time to prepare your post let one of us know, we'll be happy to share the questions with you a little early, if you ask nice that is.

**My Answers**

1.} The last thing I searched for online were gifts for Peanuts friends. She has two birthday parties in July and these make perfect gifts! Julia from Once Upon a Sugar Tree makes the most adorable bottle cap necklaces, key chains and such. She's reasonably priced and fast to boot.

I had this personalized for Peanut with her team colors and made into a zipper pull.

2.} The obvious must do's in Florida are a day {or ten} at the beach and of course Disney World. The less obvious and probably more fun choices would be canoeing and fresh water tubing. Yes, we have alligators here but if you leave them alone they'll leave you alone, or so I've been told, I like to stay in the canoe when canoeing, I'll let someone else test out that theory. There are always gators galore in the river! We don't tube down the same river we canoe, the tubing river water is crystal clear ice cold, gators hate cold water!

We got a little too close to this one and he let us know he wasn't happy with us with a big hiss!

It's been over 2 years since we went canoeing, look how little Peanut is, it's time to go again. Anyone want to join us?

3.} Pharmaceutical companies really need to make an anti-dumb-ass pill! If I have to help count back the correct change after I throw the dime in at the last minute one more time I'm gonna scream. I also do not want to ever be told again that my pizza cannot be cut into squares because it's round! SERIOUSLY?!!?

4.} I'm gonna spill on this one. I have no clue my first kiss was or if it was good or bad. All I remember is that it was from my next door neighbor and it happened in between the huge trees in his front yard. If I had to guess I would say I was maybe 8. Oh how I loved that boy!

5.} I think I've talked about my lack of TV watching before, there really isn't anything I just have to watch. I do enjoy watching Pretty Little Liars with Honey, some of the content makes me squirm but it's rated TV13 and since she's almost 17 and sees much worse at school I guess we're ok. At least we're not watching The Hangover together!

Thanks for sticking around and reading my answers if you'd like to join in on the fun please come back and link up your post here and don't forget the button!

Can I get back in the swing of things?

I've been blogging only on Wednesday for several weeks now and although the break has been nice I feel  disconnected from my iFriends. I'm going to do my best to post at least 3 times a week during the summer. I'm also going to try to read your blogs, leave comments and email you back when you take the time to leave me some comment love. But, and this is a big but {just like my ass}, I'm making no promises.

I so look forward to summer, we enjoy lazy days were we sleep past 9, stay in our jammies all day long and do last minute things like load up and drive to a local park for a impromptu to photo shoot.

Honey and her bestie Kristin, I love these girls almost as much as I love sleeping past 9 and staying in my jammies all day!

Yep, you gotta love summer!

Am I a Prude?

I am a lot of things, but a prude, especially when it comes to parenting, is something I did not think I was. We have a very open dialog at our house. Almost everything is discussed openly, if you ask Babe he'll tell you it's a little too open at times.

I understand that my girls will hear and see a lot of things that I wish they would not. I understand that I cannot prevent their over exposure to life. I know that I cannot, and probably should not, shelter them from all of it.

The last thing I want is to raise girls who cannot function in today's society because I have over sheltered them. I believe sending them to face reality with no warning or training is not fair and is a quick way to give them a big ol' dose of culture shock. I also do not want to rule over them with such an iron fist that I send them eagerly running from their home into a world that will chew them up and spit them out.

This weekend Babe and I went to see Bad Teacher. We were shocked by the amount of parents coming in with their children, kids our daughters age {the youngest not the oldest!} and younger. For those of you that do not know Bad Teacher is rated R. We thought that maybe they were ignoring the warning behind the rating due to the cast and that they would surely take their kids and go if it became inappropriate.

WE.WERE.WRONG!

Let me just say that I would have picked Peanut up and ran out of there within the first 3 minutes! More accurately, I would have been running behind her because she would have left on her own, I think I've done a good job of teaching her the meaning of appropriate.

I can tell you that the only rated R movies that Honey {she's almost 17} has seen with my knowledge and consent are horror movies. I would rather her see a movie were someone is getting their head cut off than a movie where someone is getting head! Too harsh? Sorry. It's the truth. She complains all of the time that she's the only one of her friends that has not seen The Hangover. I've seen the movie, it's seriously funny but in my opinion it's inappropriate for kids. More importantly it's inappropriate for my kids.

Does this make me a prude? Does it mean that I talk out of both sides of my mouth? I honestly do not know.

What I do know is that I was very uncomfortable sitting in front of what appeared to be an 11 year old girl during this movie. There were no sex scenes but with all of the extremely explicit sexual talk and dry humping with happy endings {yes, dry humping with happy endings!} there was no need to show skin.

I posted something about this on FB and had a friend reply  "Oops guess I'm a bad parent" and then she suggested I "look at VictoriasSecret.com". I don't think she and I are on the same page here. I wasn't calling her or anyone else a bad parent. I also don't think a lingerie website is a fair comparison to taking your kids to see a sexually charged movie!

Help me out here will ya. Tell me if I am way off on this one. I'll listen to what you have to say, I cannot promise I'll change my mind but I'll listen still the same.

Maybe I am being prudish {never an adjective I thought I would use to describe myself} and if I am I'm totally ok with it.

I'm too tired for a pick up line that lame!

It's time for another We Want To Know Wednesday with my friend Impulsive Addict, Mamrazzi and Jannette . It's my turn to ask the questions and since it's summer break my days are filled with doing fun things for and with my girls so I'm going to get right to it. Please know I will do my best to visit as many of you as possible but I make no promises. It's summer, you understand right?

**Questions**

1.} What is the best, or worst, pick up line you have ever been given?
2.} What is your most and least favorite day of the week?
3.} How many hours of sleep do you require each night?
4.} Is there a song that takes you back in time? What is it and what memory is it attached to?
5.} What is your biggest guilty pleasure?

**My Answers**

1.} "Hubba, hubba, hubba, you're given' me a chubba". And NO it didn't work!

2.} During the summer I'm not a big fan of Saturday and Sundays.  We have softball tournaments about twice a month and as much as I love softball I hate getting up early, those jokers start at 7:30 in the morning and are typically 45 minutes away! During the school year Sunday afternoons are a bummer because I know the weekend is coming to an end and Monday mornings always bite since I HATE getting up early!

3.} I've heard 7 is heaven but I think 8 is great and I know for sure that 9 is divine! I don't function well on little sleep not to mention I look like an old hag when tired!

4.} I love 80's music! Almost every 80's song takes me back to hanging with my friends in high school, you know when life was easy. If I had to pick just one song and one memory I would say Push It by Salt-N-Pepa. It takes me right back to doing a Chinese fire drill at the busiest stoplight in town in my lime green Chevy Chevette {1987-1988}. And of course I have to include Firehouse's classic ballad, Love of a Lifetime since it was the very first song I danced to as a married woman {1992}

5.} I have many guilty pleasures, margaritas, chips and salsa, slightly undercooked brownies, chocolate chip cookie dough, pedicures, massages and shopping to name a few. But since I need to pick one I will say that currently it's peanut butter and honey. Peanut butter on a spoon with honey drizzled on it while standing in the pantry or smeared on a slice of honey wheat bread with an ice cold glass of milk before I go to bed {dang it may be my lunch today}! And I wonder why I had to buy pants one size bigger!

Thanks for reading my answers now go write your post and  come back to link up!

With my finger and thumb in the shape of an L on my forehead

Yep, that would be me, the one standing there holding the universal Loser sign on my forehead because I haven't been to any blogs in over a week. All emails older than 2 days have been deleted. We are on day 4 of summer break and I have no ambition to do anything but sit on my ars poolside! Someone please tell me there's nothing wrong with that, QUICK!

This is what has been keeping me busy since clearly blogging has taken the back burner.

Warning, I am about to inundate you with pictures and my schedule, if this is not your thing I'll completely understand if you bail now!

The past 11 days remain to be somewhat of a blur but if I remember correctly it went a little something like this.

June 3rd- I was up and at Peanuts school by 6:30 AM {total love because I do not do mornings!} for her class field trip. Twelve plus  hours with 185 5th graders, their teachers and chaperone's all in matching shirts was super! I love a good cattle call.

Epcot in 95+ weather = good times.

I was lucky enough to have Peanut and her 3 besties in my group, I love those girls!

June 8th-  Baby shower for Peanuts teacher and decorating for the 5th grade banquette, Adios Amigos, we're outta here!

June 9th - Was the awards ceremony. Peanut was recognized for achieving Principals honor roll all four quarters and having no behavior indicators for first through fith grade! It was also the 5th grade banquette where the kids were treated to a Mexican lunch and a huge ice cream sundae bar. Then two of the girls came to our house to swim.

Her big Sissy was there and not too happy at how fast her baby sister is growing.

Once again, it was the three  four amigos.

I'm not so sure when they went from Little Mermaids to Bathing Beauties but I'm not ok with it!

June 10th- Marked the last day of school, the last day of elementary school to be exact. That was a hard pill to swallow, especially during the "clap-out". Tissue need to be provided to all parents {and big sisters} in attendance! It was also the "Summer is Here" pool party for Peanuts softball team {at our house from 1-5} and Honey's besties Surprise Sweet 16 party {at our house from 6-?}. What was I thinking?!!?

Students, teachers and family line the sidewalk as the 5th graders take one last walk through their school.

It is total craziness!

Daddy left work to be there and of course Honey was there, she tries her best to not miss anything involving her sister {I think she was more upset than I was}.

Peanut also had to say good-bye to her very best friend, {she moved to Texas Monday morning}. This is when I became emotional,  watching them say good-bye was so hard!

Ice cream sundaes for the team.

Poor Max {one of the two little brothers} he didn't have a  chance!

A quick change of decorations took us from little girl to big girl!

Thirty plus 16 and 17 year olds {one who wore a g-string speedo} totally tested my abilities and patience! Thank God they're good kids...for the most part.

June 11th and 12th- Was spent in the extreme heat at a softball tournament where Peanut played her best games ever!

Clearly she was safe with that picture perfect slide!

Another run scored!

Honey was so tired she took a nap during one of the games! I so would have curled up next to her if I could have!

I think I have finally caught my breath. My house is almost clean and the summer schedule is in full swing. You know the one, where you stay up as late as you want, sleep in as late as you want, swim as much as you want, go to the beach as much as you want and make last minutes plans! Oh how I love summer!

We Want To Know....no, no really we do!

Impulsive Addict, Janette, Mamarazzi and I are glad you're here for week number nine. I personally couldn't be more excited because I have not even logged onto my computer in days, seven to be exact, so this is the perfect excuse to blog. I miss my iFriends!

Mamarazzi is throwing the questions at us this week and she wants to know...

1.} You have been asked to give a 10 minute speech to teenage girls. What is it about?

2.} Do you have a pet? Tell us about them. No pets? Why?

3.} What is the biggest inconvenience about the place you're currently living?

4.}  What do you think is the single best decision you have made in your life so far?

5.} What are the THREE "nevers" of your life? {things you would never do or have never done}.

And here are my answers!

1.} I really have no idea. I probably should know since I have two daughters, one is weeks away from 17 the other is 11.5, but I must be honest. I have nor freaking clue! Just ask them, I NEVER say or do anything right. I think I would talk about loving yourself first and foremost. Not thinking that you're any less because you don't look like your friends. That some boys will say almost anything to get in your pants so don't believe a word they say! That although the things you're going through right now seem like the be-all end-all in ten years none of it even matter. Most importantly I would want them to know that they are, in the words of Pink, F***ing Perfect!

2.} Do I need to answer this? Seriously! If you've been around my blog for any length of time you know all about Rogue, if you don't just click on his name to the left and read away. There's a little something about all of them here, enjoy!

3.} The first thing that comes to mind is that I can't go to one of my favorite local restaurants on Friday night because it's swingers night. I can never remember if my keys go on the bar or stay in my purse. The stress is just too much for me, I would hate to do the wrong thing!

4.} This is a no brainer, I married my husband!

5.} Ok, I will never have ass sex...

Clearly my husband took over while I walked away!

4.} Well, I do have to agree with him on this one, marrying him almost 19 years ago was one of the best decisions I have ever made! I would so do it again, absolutely no regrets!

5.} Can I first say that I hate to say "I will never ____". I feel it just sets me up to do the very thing I said I would never do. But because I'm a team player here are my answers.
      1. Again, I have to agree with Babe on this one, I'm a no anal kind of girl. Just ask me about the angry dolphin!
      2. I have never, nor do I ever wish to, jump out of a perfectly good airplane. I watched my hubby do it with not a single butterfly in my tummy but I'm certain they would have to push me out kicking and screaming!
      3. I have never sang karaoke, not even at home. I'm really not sure there's enough liquid courage in one place to make that happen. A singer I am not!

A special thanks McKenzie and Date Girl for sending in questions 2 and 3 {question # 2 is from McKenzie and question # 3 is from Date Girl}. If you would like to see your questions here and receive lots and lots of linky love next week please send them to me!

As always please remember to grab the button, link to the hostesses and keep it PG-13 or risk the chance of being removed from the party!

Is it Wednesday already?

Is it just me or is time flying by? And it's not just the big things that are flying by anymore. My days are going by so fast that I'm getting dizzy.

Any-who, it's Wednesday which means it's time for another edition of We Want To Know brought to you by Impulsive Addict, Janette, Mamarazzi and me!

This week Janette is asking the questions and she wants to know...

1.} Everyone seems to have a quirky family situation. What is something unique about your family dynamic? This is really hard and honestly I have no clue. I guess it would be that my husband, my girls and I talk about almost anything. As they get older it's becoming more and more uncomfortable for my hubby. There has been a few times when the topic of boys, boobs and tampons has made him cover his eyes with his fingers, plug his ears with his thumbs and rock back and forth while humming loudly. Poor guy, he doesn't have a fighting chance!

2.}What is the most stressful aspect to blogging {aside from the network going down}? Finding the time to read all of the blogs I love every day. Really reading their posts and putting thought into the comment I leave. Also, getting back to people who take the time to leave me a thoughtful comment. Some days there's just not enough time for me to do it and I feel guilty. I need to learn to let it go if I can't.

3.}We all end up on a blog at some point in our day, but name your top three favorite websites you flock to daily {non blog}. I'm on Face-Book multiple times a day. I may visit Twitter but I usually do that on my phone. If I'm looking something up my search engine of choice is Google. I use Gmail for my blog emails but really other than that I'm
not a big Internet junkie.

4.}What's your sign? Believe in it or not, does any part ring true to you? I'm a Leo and the only thing I know about my sign is that it means I was born sometime in August. My husband is a Capricorn, Honey is also a Leo {we share a birthday} and I have no clue what Peanut is. Is that horrible? I don't put much thought into any of that stuff partially because I just don't have the brain power to retain it but mainly because I believe that God and the choices I make control my life not the alignment of stars.

5.} Ice cream!! ICE CREAM!! We all scream for ice cream! Name your favorite flavor/brand! Anything but Rock Road {I don't like marshmallows}. No seriously, I will not turn ice cream down. Ever. And if you've been around my blog for any length of time you know that I don't share it either. EVER!

****Bonus questions because Janette is such an over achiever!****

6.} Name the blog you credit for linking up with us today? Well this is awkward{Austin girls, I'm doing the awkward turtle!}...Seriously Shawn.

7.}Suggest a question you want to see in future WWTK's! What a great idea Janette, yes tell us what you'd like to see as a question.

Now before you set off to answer your questions I need to tell you that I am really sorry that I'm not doing a better job of visiting all of you each week. I'm thrilled that so many of you are linking up and I would love nothing more than to come by and say hi to each of you but dang, that would be an all day event. However, I do promise to come by if you leave me a comment. It may take me a day or two but I'll be by, I swear.

Junes VLOG

I hope you're planning on linking up with Mamarazzi and I this month, thanks to my friend Becca it's a great topic! She wants to know what your summer plans are.

Here are mine.

Last month Myya sent the most readers to link up and as a result she has {or will because I'm a great big booby slacker and haven't sent her my gifts yet} gotten some happy mail from Mamarazzi and I. Myya, I promise I will send it out {it's been sitting here for 2 weeks now!} when I mail out Andreas Austin gift. It's the last week of school and life is beyond crazy, please give me a little grace & mercy!

Grab the button and come back and link up your video, I can't wait to find out what you're doing this summer. Discovering a new organizational tip will be nice too so don't forget to share that as well!

And the winner is....

A Winner in Austin!! from Rebecca Darling on Vimeo.

I am so happy that one of my readers {I know she reads everyone but she was mine first} won! I absolutely love Andrea! I have been blogging with her since my friend Natalie {who needs to blog more} introduced me to her about 3 years ago.

Andrea, you will be getting some items that define Austin and it's total weirdness in the mail from each of us soon!

Oh and by the way, she was the only one that got all six quotes right!

MUAH!

Austin recap {finally}

Everyone but me has done already posted their follow-up Austin post. I knew about it. I had time to plan and prepare. I failed. I have no excuses. What can I say, I'm almost always a day late and a dollar short!

Austin has six letters {you're welcome}. There were six of us tearing things up in Austin. Because I like continuity I've decided to say something about each one of my partners in crime using just six words. Lets see if I can do this...

Becca- A true pleaser and great friend!

Jen- Quiet until the wine comes out!

JennyKate- I'll drink with her any time!

Impulsive Addict- The little sister I never had!

Vivienne- Super smart, I need a dictionary!

I could say so much more about each one of them but it's all been said already on their Austin recaps. If you haven't already checked them out what are you waiting for? Go!

Here are a few of my favorite pictures from the weekend...

This was too good to pass up and was also the inspiration for my quote "well clearly he wants to play a game called Just The Tip".

I cannot even begin to explain how much fun JK is. When I say I have a girl crush on her I'm not lying!

These two girls are just as wild and crazy as I am. I see a trip to OK for me soon!

Becca and I, Dancing Queens?

Don't ask because I have no answer!

Our last night together and we were looking good if I don't say so myself.

I just LOVE this picture of Jen, so much fun!

I love me some Vivienne! She is one of my "oldest" bloggy friends and I truly love her.

If I had to sum up our time together using just one word I would choose comfortable. Honey called me while we were on our way to the hotel and asked if it was awkward, my reply was the only thing that was awkward was that it wasn't awkward. We spent three uninterrupted days together and I was more at ease with them then I probably would have been with a few friends that I grew up with.

The winner of the What Did She Say? contest has been chosen. I will be doing a video post courtesy of Becca dedicated to just that later today. Yep, two posts in one day. What can I say, I'm feelin' kind of crazy!

Would uv, could uv, should uv...

I know today is the day I'm suppose to announce the winner of the Austin, Who Said That, give away. It's also Friday which means I should be linking up with Mamarazzi for Friday Confessions.

But.

You knew that was coming didn't you?

That's not going to happen because I failed to plan ahead and schedule a post. I'm such a slacker lately, I am so ready for summer break!

Today I am spending the entire day at Epcot with Peanut and her 5th grade class. I would much rather be jumping from blog to blog reading the rest of the WWTK posts that I haven't gotten to yet and your confessions but that's just not an option. Please think of me today while I'm walking around a theme park with the same neon orange t-shirt as everyone else. I may or may not be a little miserable, I don't do cattle call very well, especially in matching clothes! I'm sure it will be a good time...

I do however need to mention that today is a very special day. It's Rogues 2nd birthday. I need to remember to stop on my way home to buy him a special birthday bone {and myself a bottle of Patron, Lord knows I deserve it!}

Happy Birthday Rogue!
