The dangled carrot is the most desired!

Have you ever noticed that you really don't want something until you're told you can't have it? I hated broccoli until I was told it was too high in vitamin K and I couldn't have it because of my blood disease. I eat the hell out of broccoli now {and every other green leafy I can get my hands on...except kale-yuck} I just adjust my medicine accordingly. Why yes, I am a doctor.

Today my broccoli is Paris.

Huh?

Well, it seems that Babe has been working his butt off trying to earn a first class trip for two to Paris and several other fabulous cities for 10 days! I've never been, I've always wanted to go but never dreamed it would happen until we retired.

I told him he should have never told me, I'm going to be so pissed off at him sad if we don't get to go.

To make the trip even more fabulous...it's just 3 days after my 42nd birthday and 17 days before our 20th wedding anniversary. An all expenses paid, first class all the way, trip to Europe with just my love for my birthday and anniversary...Um, YES PLEASE!

Our passports are expired but I have plenty of time to renew them and get a new picture, the current picture is not my best. I was pregnant with Peanut when it was taken and well, I'm like a good bottle of wine I've gotten better with age!

Do you think it's bad karma to send off the renewal before we've actually won? I could hold on to them for a few more days, we should know soon.

So today I'm Daydreamin' about my upcoming trip to Paris and the wonderful time I will have sipping wine and enjoying my hubby while my sister {hint, hint} and my parents tend to my girls.

What are you Daydreamin' about? Go tell Becca all about it over at R We There Yet Mom, she's waiting for you.

Fill out whatever forms you need to and keep your fingers crossed. Wow that would be so cool.
Worst case scenario you don't get to go to Paris but your passport is updated and you can take that long awaited trip to Canada.
We are not France but we do have many French speaking people who can insult you and be rude just like those Frenchies in France.
I can say this because my 11th. Great Grandparents were the first official family to come to Canada from France. I am kinda like royalty!!!

Don't wait. Renew as soon as you can. You'd be surprised at what can cause a delay. And at the restrictions on passport photos. I was told I wasn't allowed to smile in mine. Smiling = up to no good. Instead my passport looks like a mugshot. Mugshot = terrorist. Go do it now. NOW I SAY!

What an amazing getaway that would be for your B-day and anniversary!

I am rooting for you? What is the criteria for winning?

Good luck! I'll cross my toes for you!

This would be soooo amazing. I am crossing fingers that Babe pulls through for you. I'm sure he will move mountains trying.

You do know that when you do get to go I will be hating you a little for it though. LOL :)

Good luck! I hope you get to go to fabulous Paris... Also... kale is bad for you and you shouldn't have it ;) Just kidding. Your mention of kale made me laugh though. I never liked Gruenkohl (German for kale) when growing up... then, I bought kale not knowing what it would be in German, made a stew with potatoes and sausages, love it.... and found out that I actually liked Gruenkohl :)

He must be feeling pretty confident if he actually told you about it. That's not the kind of thing I'd ever mention to my wife unless I thought my odds were pretty good. Renew your passports. Even if he doesn't win, people who work that hard always get rewarded in one way or another, and you might as well be ready for whatever great stuff is heading your way!

I wanna go to Paris! I'll probably never go but I'm glad that you have a good chance. Am I jealous? Yes. But I'm usually jealous of everything you post about so that's nothing new. ;)

First, all of your pictures are cute. (Except your driver's license pic.) Second, it is just good planning to keep your passport up to date. Renew away and good luck! :)

Personally I see nothing wrong with passport pic its classic 90s it had a Natasha Richardson/Michelle Pfeiffer feel to it :)! I say renew you may or may not win the trip but something better could always come your way sooner!

Gigi ;)
