Talk To Us Tuesday ~ 10 things to Smile About

It's Tuesday, it kinda feels like Monday but I'm so glad it's really Tuesday because I love TTUT! This week I'm linking up with Emmy Mom {who I met IRL this month which totally made me smile!} for her 10 Things to Smile about and Stacy for her Random Tuesday Thoughts. Hopefully you're going to join my partner in crime IA and me, it's lots of fun and there's no rules! 


In no particular order here are 10 things that made me smile during the month of May...


1. Spending 4 fun filled days with my bloggy besties! I'm sure you're tired of hearing about the fun we had but I will not apologize! And if you don't like it guess what? Honey Badger don't give a shit! Becca from The Texas Darlings made another video for us, you can see last years video here if you want, thanks Becca, I love it and have laughed and smiled through it every time I've watched it! 

2. Spending a beautiful day at the beach with my family for Mother's Day definitely made me smile! 

3. Watching my Mom be such a good sport with her Granddaughters not only made me smile but made me laugh out loud! I'm sure she'll never forget Honey's last words, "I promise I wot tip you Nana."!

4. Honey can be so serious, moody, and over react often but deep down she's a fun-loving nut case just like her Momma. "Mom, I mustache you a question".

5. Even though my dogs shed enough to keep under privileged Eskimos warm I still love them and they make me smile every day! 

6. Watching Peanut do a softball photo shoot really made me smile. It's nice to see her looking good while wearing her favorite thing! 

7. Knowing that Peanut and I were being guarded by Gods  angels last night makes me smile. Being rear ended and feeling like I've been beaten as I type this not so much.  {glad I was driving a rental! }

8. As much as I hate to admit it....Christian Grey and all of his shades of effed up make me smile!

9. Spending the holiday weekend with my family and good friends made me smile! Relaxing poolside, sipping cold drinks in the hot sun, mini golfing, laughing....I already need to go back! 

10. Knowing that I have raised a thoughtful, caring, responsible young woman most definitely makes me smile! I had the flu last week and Honey ordered dinner, picked it up, and cleaned up the mess for me. She also helped her Dad take care of Peanut when she had the flu while I was in California. My poor Peanut lost 8 pounds in 3 days! She may drive me crazy but when she does things like that I forget all of the ugly! 

11......This is a TTUT post too and since there's no rules I'm  adding one more!...Being able to keep a secret, one the will hopefully be revealed soon, also makes me smile. A huge ear to hear, through and through smile! ohhhh, it's a good one!

I heart Florida!

Have I told y'all how much I love living in Florida? How much I love pushing my toes in the white sand and soaking up the therapeutic sun? Well I do, I really, really do! 


This weekend I will be staying with one of my very good friends and her kids at a resort just a little over an hour away proving you don't have to go far from home to have a vacation. I'm looking forward to the next 4 days in the sun with the kids and my girlfriend. 


However if you could please pray that we come home with all of our children I would appreciate it. We are after all going with 6 kids {4 girls and 2 boys} ages 8-17!

TTUT~ You can't judge a book by its cover to a post by its title!

Welcome to TTUT, the weekly meme hosted by moi and my ever shrinking, Captain drinking cohost IA. It's the no rules link up, the one where you can talk about whatever you feel like, the one where no one judges you, the one that doesn't require anything from you, and the one where all the cool kids are hanging out! 

Today I'm talking about who exactly is looking at ours blogs. I have learned that there are some that I would rather not have lurking about! 


A few years back I had a photo blog, a picture a day challenge, of which I failed miserably at by the way, and on it was a picture of my feet. Someone left a comment about my feet being nice and inquired if I was available for a "foot-job". Seriously! It was disturbing and kind of funny so I wrote a post about it titled "foot fetish much". If you want to read that post go here. As a result of my "foot fetish" post my blog has been visited numerous times by those Goggling "foot fetish" or "foot jobs". I know this because my stat counter lets me see who's visiting and where they came from, it's a pretty cool thing. I'm telling you there are some sickos out there! Check to see what's being typed into search engines to bring people your way. You may be surprised as to what you find, I was! 


Anyramble, last week I received an email that simply said, "hello, I like your blog". Now usually I would let such a vague email go unanswered but it just didn't settle well with me, I had to know more about this person who I have never received an email or comment from before so I replied saying, 'thank you *insert name here*, are you a blogger yourself? How did you find my blog'. Y'all I never should have done that, the only thing I did was open a door that I wish had stayed bolted shut! He, yes I assuming it's a man, replied back "if i tell you your going to be mad at me:-(lol". Not learning my lesson the first time I replied with a simple, 'well then maybe its better I leave it at thanks'. Less than 24 hours later he sent me this, "No well somehow i just seen the part where you showed the pic of your pretty feet!! I forgot how i came across it but it caught my eye n seen it was apart of your blog .. Omg i see why that guy loved that pic!! you have beautiful feet !! It sounds like you dont like foot fetishists?? Well that's how i came across :-) Google showed me your beautiful feet lol:-)".
Clearly this person received a lower Engligh grade than I did! Does anyone know what the heck a "foot fetishist" is. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller...Bueller....


I'm totally gross out and can't help but to wonder what he's doing while looking at a picture of my feet! The lesson here is unless you want a lot of undesirable traffic be very carefully what you title your posts!

Geesh, someone needs to lighten up!

I have received my second "hate mail" comment. I have to say that I am fairly impressed that with almost 4 years of blogging under my belt that I haven't had more. Is it a compliment that someone is taking time out of their day to leave me a less than kind comment? I'm not so sure it is. That would be like saying that someone famous deserves to have their personal life plastered across the cover of every magazine and making "head-line" news. 


My comment came from someone who was willing to leave me their name and their blogger profile, he/she has been on Blogger for a full month now, but was not brave enough to turn his/her email on. 


What to do, what to do?


I'll tell you the first thing I did was write a comment back to him/her in hopes that he/she would come back to see if I had responded, I have yet to hear anything. Then I contacted my good friend Vivienne to see if this was something that she would like to put on her Hate Mail  blog. It was. She did. 


So the post that made KL want to call me ignorant and stupid was a Talk To Us Tuesday post. I found the post to be funny and lighthearted but apparently he/she had a different opinion. 


This is the post....Should smuggling grapes be illegal?


This was KL's comment....More evidence why Americans are viewed by the rest of the world as being ignorant and stupid.  


This was my reply....Ignorant and stupid you say! Let me ask you, do you mean Americans as a whole or just little ol' me, the author of this post? Your choice of words are a little harsh don't you think? 

I would love to thank you personally for your less than kind words but it seems that you like to hide behind the screen of anonymity. You also have no email linked to your profile, I'm thinking it's because you like to stir the pot but aren't man enough to hand what comes your way in return. As a result you have left me no choice but to reply here, oh and next Tuesday on the front page of my blog because this is a perfect TTUT post! 

If you wanted to play nice I would simply say I'm sorry I offended you but it seems that you don't want to do that. So 

I'll leave it at this, you my dear, have no sense of humor! Maybe it's because you have the personality of a dry piece of toast or that you lack the ability to fill out your own beloved speedo, making this no laughing matter in your eyes, either way I really don't care. 

Clearly, or maybe not so clearly for some, this was meant as a joke. My advice to you is to lighten up or buy your next Speedo in the next size up!


This is what Viv had to say... See, now I just thought a Speedo was a poor fashion choice.  I had no idea that swim suit preferences were evidence that could further the condemnation of America.   
When American men try to compensate for a substandard wee-wee they usually do it in some symbolic way, like buying a flashy car... Perhaps Shawn's commenter is more of a literal guy, and believes you should put on a tight pair of swim bottoms to try to make the object in question appear larger. Or, perhaps his Speedo is too tight and it has cut off the blood flow to his brain...


What are your thoughts on this? Did I cross the line and offend someone or was this all in good fun? I'd love to hear what you think, yes, even if we disagree. And don't forget to go see what others had to say about it on the hate mail blog and weigh in there too! 

Talk To Us Tuesday ~ California Girls

Are you still coming by? I'm shocked and thankful! I've been such a bad blogger lately, only posting on Tuesdays and then not visiting all of you that link up. I swear I'll try to be better. I know most of you come by because my sweet  partner IA talks about farting and pooping and leaves you wonderful comments, I get it, that's why I love her too! Although she did call me skanky today so I may have to break up with her....Whatever you brought you here I'm glad you came.


I'm tossing around a few ideas for today's post but I think I've decided to talk about  my weekend in Cali with my bloggy besties. I will tell you all about my spineless hate mail and give you an honest review of my latest book soon I promise.


Here are a few things I learned while in California....


We will find a place for a group photo, or twelve, in every city we visit together!

Vivienne's expansive vocabulary, quick thinking, and tangential information proved to be a Godsend more times than one! 

If someone, who's name sounds a lot like Impulsive Addict, throws a chunky heel down 18 stairs and it lands on top of your foot it may look like this 1 week later! 

Vivienne can rock a hat like no other! 

This Honey Badger only had eyes for IA and he didn't care, Honey Badger didn't give a shit. {if you have no clue what I'm talking about youtube search honey badger!}

I take a great self portrait and JK not only cracks me up but is gorgeous!

I also learned that a few of these girls like to kiss and have soft lips but I don't kiss and tell so you'll have to visit IA for the dirt.

I promise to have pictures from my California trip up soon. We had a great time and enjoyed a tons of laughs, great food and of course tasty drinks! I can sum the long weekend up in 2 words... "so fun"! 

It's Tuesday! Since I was playing with my girls, including my partner in crime IA, in California all weekend and didn't get home until late last night I'm making it easy on myself this week and simply posting an absolutely sinful recipe. I will do my best to get to everyone this week, I failed miserably last week...sorry.

Picture overload of our trip is soon to come I'm sure! 

Make chocolate chip cookie dough as directed

Add one scoop of dough to a double stuff Oreo cookie

Add another scoop to the other side

Form around cookie covering all of the Oreo

Bake at 350 for approximately 15 minutes

 Eat with caution, after all it is 3 cookies in one!
